Haunted Mansion: Flower Horrangements

A Haunted Mansion party isn’t your typical Halloween party.  After all, it DOES have the word mansion in it.  And any good mansion would have lovely flower arrangements.  Here’s our simple how-to on making your drop-dead georgous arrangements! {It’s really not much different than making any flower arrangement.}

What you’ll need: A vessel to put your flowers in, flower foam, {in this case} artificial flowers, sticks from your yard {the Gs loved going on an adventure walk to collect these!}, burlap, floral wire, moss, some spider webs.

I generally start with the highest point on the arrangement and in this case I put it in the middle.  I then added a sprig of black flowers to give a bit more color and dimension.  Then I added some larger flowers to the sides of the arrangements.

Once you’ve got your flowers tucked in, go ahead and gather up your burlap almost like an accordian.  Wrap your floral wire around it creating a “bow” shape.  Stick the end of the wire into the flora foam.  I used burlap here instead of doing all artificial flowers because it was starting to look “fake” rather than “haunted”.  Arranging flowers, like much of design is about editing: add and subtract until you have the right equation!

For the final touches, I added some cool gray and black moss to cover my wire and to give a bit of visual interest, added sticks for height {and to give the allusion that there was formerly something alive on the branch} and then finally, some webs to make it appear as though it had been sitting on a table in our mansion for ages!

I have some easy halloween treats coming your way the next couple of days.  Nothing fancy, just simply spooktacular!

Blessings Halloween-loving-friends!
